Understanding Sex and Gender
In the presentation on understanding sex and gender, Dr. Priya Prabhu explained the difference between biological sex and gender. She demonstrated that gender as a social construct plays a part in behaviour, characteristics and expectations from men and women. This leads to them having different roles, responsibilities and opportunities, and differential control over resources.
